I purchased these 6x9 speakers as replacements for the 17 year old original speakers in my vehicle and am not impressed. I had replaced the 6" door speakers last year with some Boston Acoustics and was extremely pleased with the improvement in sound quality, so I was expecting a similar improvement from the replacement of the 1/4 panel speakers, especially since the originals were in far worse condition than the original door speakers were. 6x9 speakers should be capable of providing some decent bass but these are actually outperformed by the door speakers in both low frequency response and clarity. For 6x9 speaker in this price range I was expecting much more.

these sound great! I built a custom car and wanted something that I could play some tunes on so I ordered these, an amp, preamp and a connector for my iPhone. My car is open air, so lots of wind noise that these need to overcome. I can listed at highway speeds and when I'm parked with the volume low I hear a very wide range. I'm very impressed with these speakers.
